Religion of the Hurrians, from late 3rd millennium BCE until at least the 12th century BCE. As with the Hurrian, the religion belonged to the lands of central-southern Asia Minor and northwestern Syria.
Hurrian religion would have great impact on Hittite religion, the main gods survived nearly unchanged. Other peoples also embraced Hurrian gods, like in Syria and Urartu.
The religion was polytheistic. The highest god was Teshub, the god of weather. He was married with Hebat, the mother goddess, and their son was Sharruma.
The Hurrians could represent deities and spirits as winged humans or animals, on the negative side as dragons or other monsters.
Hurrian religion was not so much organized with large temples dedicated to specific god, but there were exceptions, like at Harran and Kahat.
