Index / Education /
Students

This overview shows number of students at universities and higher institutions. The percentage of total population must not be confused with enrollment rates; across the MENA region median age varies a lot, and with that the actual population in relevant age groups.
The quality of available data varies a lot from country to country, and although LookLex has taken all efforts in making this list as good as possible, it must be used with care. Year is included for the statistics, as the oldest figures are from 1994, the newest from 2007. In the case of Iraq, figures are from 2001, the last year before the war, and present situation may well be very different.
