The political situation in Morocco is stable, but the price is heavy suppression of dissidents, as well as control over organizations. There has been established a semi-democracy, as a halfhearted attempt of bringing the system of Morocco closer to the European Union, which Morocco wants cooperate with. Still the king, Muhammad 6 controls everything.
Under the excuse of the need to control Islamism, which is and has always been weak in Morocco, but could be ignited easily, Moroccan authorities have gotten the silent permission from the international society to break several human rights.
But at the very same time can people who are not working for any political groups live in safety from the secret police. There are few indicators on political change in Morocco even after the chage of kings.
