Raneferef

King of Ancient Egypt, 5th ruler of the 5th Dynasty, ruling 2448-2445 BCE, 2 to 3 years.
Manetho sets Raneferef's reign to 20 years, but based upon information such as his very much unfinished pyramid at Abu Sir, this is clearly all too long. Modern research has suggested as little as 1 year reign. After his premature death, his pyramid was hastily turned into a mastaba, 7 metre high. His mummy has been found here, and analysis has set his age at between 20 and 23 years.
He was preceded by Shepseskare and succeeded by Nyuserre, his brother.
