GIZA:
Inside the Menkaure

Menkaure Pyramid, Giza, Egypt

Menkaure Pyramid, Giza, Egypt

Almost there. This chamber has been suggested as the earliest burial room.

The burial chambers of Menkaure are open for the public again. What you find inside can appear uninteresting as there are few decorations. In the first chamber you arrive in, there are some, but further down, all you will see are crude stone walls.
There are 4 chambers here, which is quite unusual. Scholars have no definite ideas of which purpose the 3 non-obligatory served. The dark stone sarcophagus is no longer here. It lies on the bottom of the sea outside southern Spain, after the ship Beatrice sunk in 1838 on its way to England.

A chamber next to the room of the sarcophagus, nobody knows what this chamber of 6 niches was used for.
