There were 8 mastabas and a queen's pyramid built to the north of Sesostris 2's pyramid. Princesses were buried in the mastabas. The building technique for the mastabas was quite similar to that of the pyramid. Tombs were dug from the ground, and then covered by mudbrick. The pyramid is today only slightly larger than the mastabas, but was originally 18 metres high. Never has an inner structure been found in this, so it may not have been intended to be used.
