Practicalities
Meidum can be visited either from Cairo, Fayoum or Beni Suef. The best is to arrange for your own transportation, but if you have more time than money you can use pick-ups to get here. If you have your own car or taxi, the smart thing to do is to toss in the pyramids at Illahun, Lisht and Hawara on the same day journey, but then you better start early. The area is open between 8.00 and 16.00 and admission costs EŁ16.
