SHARM EL-SHEIKH:
Practicalities

Na'ama Bay, Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt

Luxury hotel in Na'ama Bay.

Eat and Sleep
Little in the cheaper end, and good deals involves very simple standards. At the other end of the quality scale, you will face the bad side of Sharm el-Sheikh depending so much on tourism. In general, value for money is very bad for being Egypt.
Not too much of restaurants, but prices are not all too bad. Quality not either, fish can be very good here.

Transportation
OK bus connections in both directions (Cairo direction, or Dahab direction). Unreliable ferries for Hurghada. Domestic air connections here are only for Cairo, and overpriced. You can even get to Europe from Sharm el-Sheikh, as some charter flights accept one way passengers. Prices here are not known.
Moving around Sharm el-Sheikh is presently dominated by the taxi mafia, which has the nerve to say that there are fixed prices for specific destinations. And these prices are 3 times what you would pay for exactly the same service in the rest of the country. The local police is in on the fraud, forcing tourists off the bus to pay the local fantasy prices.

Going Next

160 km north: Nuweiba
400 km northwest: Cairo
80 km southwest: Hurgahda (by ferry).
