The town of Midelt itself is not what makes Midelt a nice destination. Rather, the the surrounding nature, which could be described as soft lunar landscape. Midelt is located in the highlands where the Anti-Atlas slides into the High-Atlas. The backdrop of Midelt is stunning with the Ayachi Mountain rising up to 3,737 metres. Midelt is an important centre for local rugs and carpets, and thanks to the many shops in town chances of buying the finest quality at good prices are definitely there. The major tour for exploring the surrounding nature, is the Cirque du Jaffar.
