Old men in safsaris
During all my travels around all of Tunisia, Ksar Ezzahra is the only place where I have seen men still using the safsari, the white cloth that older and more conservative women use when they leave the house.

The man in the background is wearing a male safsari. The one in front is using a type of jellaba that is still in wide use among Tunisian men all over the country, even in the capital Tunis.

The safsari is like a "moral raincoat", quite similar to the shawl, but it also doubles as an effective protection against the heat of the sun.
